Chinese dance raises awareness of the divine
Welcome to the Sound Of Hope Radio network, my name is Daniel Teng and in this program we will be covering the Divine Performing Arts in Cincinnati and the evening session in the Cincinnati Music Hall on Tuesday the 23rd of December.
The three companies of the Divine Performing Arts have, as of the 26th, completed their tours in Sarasota, Houston and Cincinnati. Attending the Cincinnati evening performance was Steve and Patricia Springer. Steve is a medical researcher and Patricia is a registered Nurse. We’ll now listen to some of their thoughts about the show.
Classical Chinese dance is a distinct art form which embodies China’s extensive and remarkable history. It has a history of evolving and adopting new techniques and training methods. Chinese dance began originally with folk and ethnic dances, but over the course of history, it has embraced changes in the social environment and the cultures of each Chinese Dynasty. Further, martial arts has had a great influence on Chinese dance; ensuring Chinese dancers must have the right training and stamina to perform acrobatic movements. This history has left Chinese dance with an extensive repertoire capable of depicting all kinds of stories and divine messages.
The Divine Performing Arts troupe is currently touring in Sarasota, Houston and Cincinnati. The next destinations include: Jacksonville’s Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts on the 26th; San Diego’s San Diego Civic Theatre from the 26th – 28th; and Chicago’s Civic Opera House from the 27th – 28th.
