Shen Yun Show Stimulates and Inspires People to Seek The Truth – It was Wonderful

Shun Yun Performing Arts. Not just a breath of fresh air - it is the fresh start, the resurgence of China’s ancient culture and history.

Hello and welcome my name is Grace Mann, I am your host from the SOH Radio network, a proud sponsor of The Shen Yun Performing Arts. Shen Yun Performing Arts debuted to an appreciative audience at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, March 18, and notable members of Tulsa’s arts community responded enthusiastically to this highly anticipated and acclaimed show, welcoming it to Tulsa. With that, the audience burst into cheers, resoundingly giving their approval with long, standing ovations.

Ms. Nancy Hermann, Marketing Director for the Tulsa Performing Arts Center and Editor of Intermission magazine, revealed that she resisted pressure from the Chinese communist regime to proudly promote the performance that she had not yet even seen.

Ms. Hermann followed on by saying that she helped in an extensive promotion of Shen Yun because she “believed in this project. …”

Ms. Hermann also said she’d had a Chinese person call her and told her to stop supporting Shen Yun. She refused to do so, “……. and was not very sympathetic to the person on the phone who then kind of backed down.”

Under communist rule, which advocates violence, atheism, and “class struggle,” China’s rich history and culture of esteemed values and virtue, such as kindness, harmony and piety was seen as an obstacle to the communist party’s governing authority, and thus has been assaulted and denounced for several long decades. During the Cultural Revolution (1966-76) the communist regime unleashed soldiers on every possible facet of China’s time-honoured past.

As if this wasn’t enough, insult was then added to this cultural devastation. What remnants of Chinese culture that survived the annihilation, were recycled, recreated, masticated and re-engineered to serve party propaganda and their political agendas.

But now, the world has Shun Yun Performing Arts. It is not just a breath of fresh air. It is the fresh start, the resurgence of China’s ancient culture and history. The three touring companies of Shen Yun brings forth the best of ancient China, in all their beauty, vigour and spiritual robustness.

Curt and Marion Shacklett of Tulsa were audience members at Tulsa’s only Shen Yun performance and graciously shared their views of the show. ….

Mrs. Shacklett acknowledged China’s rich history and culture, and considers it is a major backdrop for all life’s big themes, such as seeking truth and life’s purpose. She also felt that the Shen Yun performance, brought forth all life’s fundamental issues. eg. why are we here, what’s the purpose, along with life, death, hope and peace.

As well, Mrs. Shacklett felt the show stimulates and inspires people to seek the truth.

Following on, Mrs Shacklett said that there were many great themes throughout the show and one of the messages she got from the acts was - not to stifle the need to search for truth, excellence, truth, faith or hope. So too, to rise above the everyday grind and see that our life has purpose and not be enslaved to the things of daily life, to rise above it and see that we have a reason to be here.

Mr Shacklett also felt the show was wonderful.
