Former mayor found Shen Yun “Absolutely Spectacular”

Shen Yun with its live orchestra presented a one only grand performance at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre, Orlando, Florida on Wednesday evening 30th June. Each act, from the first to the finale, was spontaneously acknowledged by its audience members with gracious applause, warm smiles, and sometimes tears. Before crossing to Orlando to speak with our inverviewees, let’s take a quick look at Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre.
The Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre is a major performing arts auditorium in Orlando, Florida, seating just over 2,500 people. It is part of the larger Orlando Centroplex organization which manages several facilities.
The original Orlando Municipal Auditorium has been utilised for performing arts since 1926 and was then extensively modernized and enlarged between 1975 and 1977. It was then renamed Bob Carr Performing Arts Centre in honour of former Orlando Mayor Bob Carr. Further modernization was also done in 1991, though the original Municipal Auditorium frontage remains intact in the interior of the building.
It is home to the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the former Orlando Opera. As well it is host to a variety of other shows, exhibitions, and events.
The Bob Carr Centre is said to be replaced in 2012, and it is unknown what its fate will be thereafter.
